clunking noise in front end on bumpy roads

My Journey had a clunking noise in the front when I bought it used at 23,000 miles. I thought it may have been struts or ball joints or something. I had to do a front brake job (pads and rotors) due to horrible brake vibration. After that the clunk in the front has stopped. It seems that the brake pad backing plates were worn out and sliding around in the calipers when the brakes were not applied. The noise was greatly reduced while braking. -

Hi everyone. My wife and I are recently new owners of 2 2014 Journey sxt awd's. We bought my wife's first back in November. We traded in her 2011 Rav4, I hated that thing. She loves her car and I began to love it as well, so I decided to trade in my 2009 Pontiac Vibe GT for my own Journey. Both Journeys are identical except for the color. Hers is black and mine is the metallic orange color, not sure what it's called.
